Look at the all-new Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer! The new ST will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in the beginning of March. The Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer is a subcompact estate and it will go on sale in most parts of Europe by early summer.

As anticipated, the production version of last year’s Frankfurt Show IBZ study has lost all those edgy styling elements such as the hidden rear door handles and the sharper tail lamps that made the concept look so special.

On the outside the Ibiza ST appears to be identical to the hatchback model while from there aft, the styling brings to mind the Audi A3 Sportback.

Measuring in at a length of 4,320mm, the new Ibiza ST is about 180mm longer than the hatchback model.

Most of the extra length is concentrated in the rear overhang benefitting the capacity of the luggage compartment that now reaches 430 liters, and can be further increased in stages by folding the split rear seat.

The VW’s Spanish division said that the Ibizia ST offers a choice of three petrol and three TDI units with common-rail injection with four of those engines operating with direct injection and turbocharging.

These include the group’s new 1.2-liter TSI petrol with 105HP and the 1.6-liter TDI in 90HP and 105HP guises.

WV’s Spanish division SEAT pans to introduce all-new Ibiza FR. The new Ibiza FR will get the same twin charged 1.4-liter TSI engine with the CUPRA, but detuned to develop an output of 150 instead of 180HP. The engine is hooked up to a six-speed manual gearbox or optionally, a seven-speed dual clutch DSG transmission with steering wheel shift paddles that features a sportier software than the one fitted on the 1.6 model of the Ibiza range. SEAT has not disclosed any performance figures but expect to see a 0 to 100km/h sprint time of around 8,0 seconds.

Compared to the standard Ibiza SC (three door model), the Ibiza FR is distinguished by a new front bumper featuring honeycomb slats and a chrome surround on the central grille plus a diffuser-style rear apron. Other unique exterior elements on the FR are the silver colored door mirrors, the 17 inch rims and the twin tailpipes.

SEAT has unveiled its sporty Cupra model that is equipped with the latest version of the VW Group’s 1.4-liter TSI engine. The new twin-turbo engine now delivers 180 HP and is mated to a seven speed DSG gearbox with steering wheel shift-paddles. SEAT say that while developing the same output as the 1.8-liter turbo in the previous generation Ibiza Cupra, the new engine delivers a noteworthy reduction in emission levels and fuel consumption thanks to its smaller cylinder capacity.

Compared to the other Ibiza SportCoupe versions, the new Cupra gets a aggressive bodykit with new a front bumper that features a lip spoiler and air intake vents surrounding the central grille, 17-inch alloy wheels and a newly designed rear bumper with an integrated difusser and a centrally placed trapezoid tailpipe. Oddly enough, and although the Cupra is the top-of-the-range model in the Ibiza line-up, it does not get side skirts.

The Cupra will come equipped with standard ESP, ABS, TCS + EBA, driver and passenger airbag, head airbag, Hill Hold Control, tire pressure loss warning light, twin chrome headlights, fog lamps with cornering function, ‘easy entry’ system on the passenger seat, CUPRA suspension, CUPRA sports seats and aluminum pedals. The Ibiza Cupra will make its debut at the Paris Auto Show in October.

Spy photographers have caught the first undisguised test mule of the new SEAT Ibiza FR out testing.

Take a look at this five-door Seat Ibiza. In an effort to keep a low profile, engineers have used an essentially standard bodyshell. Expect the production version of the hot hatch to feature a sporty bodykit and range of eye-catching colours.

No details have been released about engines, but candidates are the 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine and the 168bhp 2.0-litre TDI unit from the larger Leon.

The rapid FR will be followed by an even quicker Cupra version of the new supermini. Based on the forthcoming Sport Coupe three-door it will be heavily influenced by the stunning Bocanegra concept that debuted at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

There’s no official word on when the first fast Ibiza FR will be launched, but expect to see in showrooms at the end of the year.
